Do I have to have served in combat to qualify?

No. VA disability compensation is not exclusive to combat veterans — any service-connected
injury or illness can qualify.

Is there a minimum length of service required?

There's no prescribed length of service for a service-connected disability claim — an
injury or illness connected to active duty can trigger eligibility.

Can I work while receiving VA disability benefits?

In most cases, yes. The exception is veterans receiving Total Disability based on
Individual Unemployability (TDIU).

Do I need representation to file a claim?

You're not required to have representation, but the process is difficult to navigate alone
